CONGRATULATIONS ON A RECORD-BREAKING SECTION MEETING!!
From our All-Ohio Chapter Chair, Deb Henrichs — To the entire All-Ohio team and our invaluable contributors,
It fills me with immense pride and gratitude to reflect on the resounding success of our recent Section Meeting. With an attendance of 105 individuals, this gathering is the largest Section Meeting in over a decade, a true testament to the dedication and collaborative spirit of everyone involved. The overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding every aspect – from the meticulously chosen venues and flawless organization to the warm hospitality, exceptional banquet fare, inspiring speaker, exquisite decorations, and delightful Goody Bags – has been truly heartwarming. This achievement is a direct result of the countless hours, creative ideas, and unwavering commitment poured into making this event unforgettable.
At the heart of this triumph was the exceptional leadership of Val Palazzolo, who, as Section Meeting Chair, orchestrated every detail with precision and vision. Supporting this monumental effort were the chairs who guided their respective domains:
* Publicity: Gabby Tan ensured our message reached far and wide, generating significant excitement.
* Treasurer: Peg Ballou managed our finances with diligence.
* Registration: Dalya Abu-Shaweesh skillfully handled the complex registration process flawlessly and was assisted with the initial welcoming process by Gabby Tan and Peg Ballou.
* Transportation: Jun Oikawa spearheaded the smooth movement of attendees, supported by Jodie-Lee Hostetler and Yuan Zhao.
* Silent Auction: Peg Figley and Betty Huck curated and managed an incredibly successful auction.
* Hospitality: Sarah Smith ensured everyone felt welcome and comfortable, with the invaluable assistance of Natalie Moncaleano, Yuan Zhao, Betty Huck, Brooklyn Kochert, Peg Ballou, and Gabby Tan.
* Decorations: Val Palazzolo and Sarah Smith, along with Brooklyn Kochert, provided beautifully crafted decorations for our banquet.
Beyond these core teams, a special acknowledgment must go to our diligent ground crew, who ensured seamless operations behind the scenes. Matt Monell, Randy Holton, Sam Ballou, Alex Kochert, and Rich Wagner kept transportation to our venues running like clockwork. Furthermore, Tyler Smith, Melissa Moncaleano, and Phil Sykora tirelessly stepped in wherever needed, whether it be hospitality, registration, decorating or helping an attendee with her luggage. We simply could not have achieved this level of excellence without their hands-on support.
The success of this meeting was further elevated by extraordinary and generous contributions:
* Lisa Blair captivated everyone with her innovative invitation video, which garnered widespread interest months before the event.
* Peg Ballou exemplified true craftsmanship by designing and hand-sewing 40 Goody Bags, a personal touch that resonated with attendees and was described as “such a nice detail.”
* Peg and Sam Ballou generously loaned their two personal passenger vans for transportation and provided eight coolers for the hospitality suite, a contribution that eased our logistical burden.
* Kylie Gottman’s printing of all registration folder materials resulted in substantial cost savings for our chapter.
* Katelyn Buckler’s creative design and fabrication of a Silent Auction sign not only solved an immediate problem but provided signage needed for future section meetings.
*Ali Peterkort leveraged her connections to acquire fantastic swag items from her employer, ABX, further enhancing our Goody Bags.
It’s also important to acknowledge the many other members who contributed various swag items for the Goody Bags and a diverse array of appealing items for our Silent Auction. This collective generosity directly translated into tangible results: the Silent Auction successfully generated an impressive $1,500 for the All-Ohio Scholarship fund.
I am profoundly proud to have collaborated with such an exceptional, dedicated, and talented team. Your collective passion and commitment have not only made this Section Meeting a triumph but have also set a new benchmark for excellence for our organization.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything.

Also — A friendly reminder from Gabby Tan, Public Relations Chair for our chapter:
- One of my goals is to revive our chapter’s social media presence to increase our online visibility and connect with potential new members. So far, I’ve gained access to our All-Ohio 99s Instagram account, and I’m working on regaining access to our public Facebook page. With that in mind, I’m looking for any aviation- or 99s-related photos and videos that you’d like to share on our Facebook and Instagram pages. You can upload your content using this Dropbox link:

- If you upload anything, please send me a quick email to let me know. Dropbox can be a bit glitchy, and I want to make sure I don’t miss anything. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions – you can contact me via email or text at (440) 390-9933. Thanks in advance for your contributions!
